These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the car rental services provided by Kigali Car Rental ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") in Kigali, Rwanda. By booking and renting a vehicle from us, you ("the Renter," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, as well as our separate Rental Policy and Privacy Policy, which are incorporated herein by reference. Please read these documents carefully before proceeding with your Kigali car rental.

1. Agreement to Rent

The rental of a vehicle by Kigali Car Rental to you is subject to the terms and conditions outlined in this document, our Rental Policy, the booking confirmation, and the vehicle check-out/check-in form completed at the commencement and termination of the rental period.

2. Incorporation of Other Policies

We use your information for the following purposes:

1. Our Rental Policy, available at Our Rental Policy Page, provides detailed information regarding the booking process, cancellation terms, payment options, driver requirements, vehicle pick-up and return procedures, insurance, prohibited use, and handling of accidents and damages. By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Rental Policy and agree to be bound by its terms.

2. Our Privacy Policy, available at our Privacy Policy Page, outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using our services, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Driver Responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that you and any authorized drivers meet the requirements outlined in our Rental Policy, including holding a valid driver's license and meeting the minimum age requirements. You are also responsible for operating the vehicle in a safe and responsible manner and in compliance with all applicable traffic laws and regulations of Rwanda.

4. Vehicle Condition and Use

1. You acknowledge that you have inspected the vehicle (or have had the opportunity to do so) at the time of pick-up and that it is in good operating condition, except for any pre-existing damage noted on the vehicle check-out form.

2. You agree to use the vehicle with reasonable care and diligence and to adhere to the prohibited uses outlined in our Rental Policy.

3. You are responsible for maintaining the vehicle's fluid levels (e.g., oil, water) during the rental period and for promptly reporting any mechanical issues or warning lights to us

5. Rental Period and Extensions

1. The rental period commences on the date and time specified in your booking confirmation and the vehicle check-out form and terminates on the date and time agreed upon for return.

2. If you wish to extend the rental period, you must contact us in advance to request an extension. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and may incur additional charges. Failure to return the vehicle on time without prior authorization may result in late return charges as specified in our Rental Policy.

6. Insurance and Liability

1. The rental vehicle may be covered by a basic insurance policy as outlined in our Rental Policy. Details of this coverage will be provided to you at the time of pick-up.

2. You may have the option to purchase additional insurance coverage to reduce your financial responsibility in case of damage or theft. The terms and conditions of these optional insurance packages will be provided at the time of rental.

3. You are responsible for any loss or damage to the rental vehicle not covered by insurance, including but not limited to damage resulting from negligence, violation of this Rental Policy or the Rental Agreement, or prohibited use.

4. To the extent permitted by law, Kigali Car Rental's liability for any loss or damage arising from your rental is limited to the total amount paid by you for the rental services. We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

7. Accidents, Theft, and Damage

In the event of an accident, theft, or damage to the rental vehicle, you must follow the procedures outlined in our Rental Policy. Failure to do so may void your insurance coverage and make you fully liable for any losses.

8. Termination of Rental Agreement

We reserve the right to terminate the rental agreement immediately and repossess the vehicle at your expense if:

1. You breach any of these Terms & Conditions or our Rental Policy.

2. The vehicle is used for any illegal or prohibited purpose.

3. We have reasonable grounds to believe that the safety of the vehicle or its occupants is at risk.

4. You fail to pay any charges when due.

5. You misrepresent any information provided to us.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rwanda.

10. Entire Agreement

These Terms & Conditions, together with our Rental Policy, Privacy Policy, the booking confirmation, and the vehicle check-out/check-in form, constitute the entire agreement between you and Kigali Car Rental concerning the rental of the vehicle and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether oral or written.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced by a valid and enforceable provision that most closely reflects the original intention of the parties.

12. Amendments

Kigali Car Rental reserves the right to amend or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. The latest version of the Terms & Conditions will be posted on our website. It is your responsibility to review these Terms & Conditions periodically for any changes. Your continued use of our Kigali car rental services after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms & Conditions.
